Siobhan M. Stephen, DMD, MD is a board certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon who practices a broad scope of oral & maxillofacial surgery.  Her clinical interests include the comprehensive care of the pediatric and young adult populations, as well as a focus on the placement of dental implants, bone preservation, and bone augmentation in the adult population.

Dr. Stephen is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in 1990.  She was awarded a Doctorate degree of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut in 1994 and a Doctorate degree of Medicine from Harvard Medical School in 1997.  She completed residency training in oral & maxillofacial surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2000, during which time she completed two years of general surgery training and received extensive training in the delivery of anesthesia.

Dr. Stephen then entered private practice in Burlington, Vermont, where she worked for seven years, becoming a partner in a prominent oral & maxillofacial surgery practice.  During this time she was an active member of the medical staff at Vermont’s largest hospital, where she participated in the treatment of facial trauma as well as resident physician education.

In 2009, Dr. Stephen returned to Connecticut and founded her own private practice.  She enjoyed the way of life in the Farmington Valley that she came to know as a student, and had a desire to be closer to family.  Her husband, and his family, are lifelong residents of the Avon and Simsbury communities.  Dr. Stephen is also an active member of the medical staff at Hartford Hospital and maintains a faculty appointment at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

In her free time Dr. Stephen enjoys spending time with her husband and four dogs, skiing, golf, reading, and learning French.
